Webinar: The Net-Zero Regulatory Environment in Nova Scotia

The Building to Zero Exchange (BTZx) is hosting the 2nd phase of our Action Accelerator Series, The Net-Zero Regulatory Environment in Nova Scotia. This webinar session is a follow up to our invite-only roundtable event that was held in May and is intended to broaden the audience and gather more feedback on barriers and areas for action around advancing net-zero buildings in Nova Scotia.

The Nova Scotia Building sector is navigating challenges on the path to net-zero construction. Some identified barriers include the perceived cost of constructing high-efficiency buildings, workforce capacity issues, and regulatory roadblocks.

This webinar will aim to facilitate further discussion on prevalent themes seen at the roundtable event, and have participants discuss and provide input into the following topics:

  • Definition: What is Net Zero?

  • Design, Cost, and Budget Constraints

  • Code Adoption

  • Coordination and Collaboration

  • Policy Roadmap and Timeline

The BTZx seeks to address the misalignment between policies and incentives that encourage net zero construction and the reality of the real estate and development market. We hope you will join us to provide input and reflect on key takeaways and opportunities for collaborative action.
